Text Processing with Python Accelerator Crash Course for Faculty & Graduate Students

My advisor led a Python crash course geared towards text processing for the Center of Excellence for Women & Technology that was held on February 18th and 19th. I assisted in this crash course along with another student. I wrote a Python script for using regular expressions to search a text file. Two versions were written, one that prints the output to terminal and another that uses Python to create a new output file. I also assisted with questions, helped the attendees set up and run the scripts, and helped the attendees when they were making their own scripts.

I was the solo instructor (Associate Instructor) on record for undergraduate Syntax in the Linguistics Department at Indiana University. I was responsible for developing and presenting lessons, creating and grading assignments, and holding office hours.

I shadowed my advisor Sandra Kübler. I also helped with syllabus development, facilitating and participating in class discussions, and was available for office hours.

LaTeX Workshop for Faculty, Postdocs & Graduate Students

Tutorial, Indiana University, CEW&T, 2021

My advisor led a LaTeX Tutorial for the Center of Excellence for Women & Technology that was attended by 28 people. I assisted in this tutorial along with another student. We presented the basics of LaTeX and how to use Overleaf while allowing the attendees to make their own LaTeX document. We also answered any questions the attendees had about formatting, LaTeX etiquette, and packages.

L555: Programming for Computational Linguists

I filled in for my advisor and taught two lectures on Unix basics and Python. This is a mixed undergraduate and graduate course.
